LIVE BURLESQUE DRAWING

I read in the New York Times this week, well online as Im actually sat in the cold, north of England wishing I was actually in NYC, about live painting sessions taking place in the Slipper Room in Manhattan with a twist. The live painting sessions take place in an old burlesque with burlesque dancers as the live models. I know, as a keen live drawer, that when your model can move into the weirdest positions, it makes the drawing come to life.
I’ve added some of the drawings produced by Molly Crabapple. You can listen to an audio comentry of the artist on the NY TImes website, where she talks about her inspiration and background as a burlesque artist.
